Major upgrade for tenants at Merlin House

Two firms are set to move into new premises thanks to major refurbishment work at Grove Business Park.

Weed control specialists Charlton Environmental and a wood burning stove company will move into new accommodation in Merlin House in September.

Merlin House, originally constructed as a single premises in 2003, is being redeveloped into three units with these existing tenants being offered accommodation tailored to their needs on similar terms. They are each taking approximately 1,000 sq ft at £10 per sq ft on a five-year lease.

Stephen John, managing director at Charlton Environmental explained: “With convenient access to the M4, M40 and A34, being based at Grove has enabled Charlton Environmental to secure work from a range of clients across the south east of England. This has led us to achieve steady, organic growth over the last decade and has allowed our contracting division to expand into new territories whilst delivering a responsive service to all our new and existing clients. The rejuvenation of the park that has been implemented by the new management team has been a welcome improvement, and the division of Merlin House has enabled us to work with Grove Business Park and their partners to design a building that meets our needs for a larger and more useable workspace as we grow as a company."

“The additional workshop, storage and office space that we will have once the build is complete, will provide us with a better working environment with better on-site facilities for our staff, whilst our training division looks to benefit from the high quality new meeting rooms available in Boston House which we are hoping to utilise in the future, leading us to achieve further sustainable growth throughout the coming years. We also anticipate that the more modern build structure and modernised facilities will help us to reduce our carbon footprint and that the improved working environment will enable us to improve our procedures and quality management, thus aiding towards our commitments to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2008. As the owner and director of an SME I look forward to working with Richard Lyall and his team in welcoming new businesses onto the park, meeting likeminded new people with innovative ideas through networking events, and benefiting from the fantastic new facilities that are available to us and other businesses on the park.”

Richard Lyall, project director at Grove Business Park Ltd, said: “We have offered two excellent existing tenants new accommodation which is a vast improvement on their current facilities. We are delighted they are staying with us and these strong businesses will form the foundation of our future plans for the Park.”

The central part of Merlin House will be available as a single stand-alone warehouse unit of 2,250 sq ft and is currently available through agents Bidwells
